I loved the golden sun games at the time, but I tried playing them last year and they did not hold up to my rose tinted view of them, but I think at the time, getting a full length RPG with some cool summons was honestly just not a thing.

Golden Sun is good if you're a 10 year old that has never gotten a chance to play a real RPG before. They hold up god awfully now.

I like Golden Sun. It was fun and the weird anti-reaction to it in the last few years is kinda  Games can be fun even if they're wordy or have old and weird combat systems.
