dragon enthusiast posted:On the plus side the whole world gets to see how awful Tetris Attack/Puzzle League is at being a competitive game Being a puzzle game enthusiast I'm genuinely curious why you think that. Tetris Attack is pretty fun. i dunno why they do these things as a race and don't have them play against each other since the games are kinda made for 1v1 play, maybe it becomes a blowup unless you have evenly skilled players

I was thinking earlier that one of the Jedi games looked like it ran on the Doom engine, don't know if I am right about that.

Dark Forces 2 was Jedi, and allowed for loving massive maps and enemy count.

Dias posted:Huh, I've always heard that the first Dark Forces was basically the Doom engine. It really isn't. About the only thing they have in common is being early FPS. Dark Forces had a more complex scripting engine and could allow rooms to be over rooms. So it was more like Build (Duke Nukem 3D's engine).

Bholder posted:So to this day I have no idea how the BFG actually works If you're serious, the ball that launches extends 40 rays from it when it explodes. Each ray does about 100 damage and enemies can be hit by multiple rays. These rays extend until they hit an enemy or a wall. If you're not, it runs on ripping and tearing.
