He was not on the staff for Rebirth 1 (which was a lot of people's first experience with the series) and the translation was so dull that IF Japan requested him back. Unlike Rebirth 1, the other two are essentially the same game and script with NISA/GUST replaced with Red and Broccoli. Since at this point they were Idea Factory International, they couldn't slap the NISA PS3 version in. It was slightly different (think reading a scanlation, then getting the official English manga) but retained all the localized jokes. The Japanese purists got upset at Neptune and others using jokes from the western internet while clearly she's referencing that one 2chan meme everyone knows (or not actually saying something funny) and started a re-translation project of Rebirth 2 after it hit PC.
