EMA is big pharma now?

From the EMA's Wikipedia page

"the EMA was set up in 1995 with funding from the European Union and the pharmaceutical industry, as well as indirect subsidy from member states, in an attempt to harmonise (but not replace) the work of existing national medicine regulatory bodies. The hope was that this plan would not only reduce the €350 million annual cost drug companies incurred by having to win separate approvals from each member state"

I'm sure the EMA is a decent organization but I'm not sure forcing big pharma to prove to more than one organization in Europe that meds are safe is a bad thing.

I think you're actually simplifying what leftists say which is not that ALL finance stuff is evil but rather that they are not regulated well and 'too big to fail' is some bullshit and there's no reason they should have so much undue influence over the political process.

Nonetheless obviously a reasonable person knows that when capital flows efficiently it is advantageous to economic growth and Wall St's function essentially is to keep investment/capital flowing efficiently.

Obviously it's not a binary evil/good thing. Plus there is a difference between orderly gradual reform and what the UK is doing which is throwing the baby out with the bath water and having investment funds grind to a halt because of panicked investors pulling out. I mean yeah you can find some extremist 'full marxism now burn it all down' rear end in a top hat I'm sure but they don't represent the majority of leftists.

Yes, it works very well until unions are cowed into near-uselessness and the government literally appoints the Director of the Confederation of Employers as the Minister of Labour. :denmark:

We should Hi five next time we are in the office.

I would like to know more about your medical expertise in this area.

Also, Reuters didn't or did think so, rather the people that assess and certify medicines in the UK think so, but all I can legally link is what a news site says or what I think.

I guess Rupert Poncington-Smythe would be posher. Or Francis Urquhart from the original British House of Cards.

In answer to your question: not really. Double-barrel surnames are upper class indicators. Maybe men who married above their station wanted to keep their wives' family "brand"?
I did IT for a couple of schools, one a fee-paying private school and the other a specialist school/pseudo-prison for kids from broken homes and you could tell at a glance from the kids' names which was which. No Chantels at the rich school and no Ruperts at the poor one.

My expertise such as it is (limited) comes from having actually worked at Fera - it might not be high five time at EMA but I think Fera is probably going to do fine, they will keep doing licensing work as long as they keep being the best at what they do. At least until they can decide on which mainland European lab to put the new EMA site in (which could take literally years), I feel like you guys are probably going to be okay-if-shaky.

Does the MHRA here not fast-track stuff to the NHS before you guys get 100% done with it? Maybe I'm just wrong on that one, sorry if so.
