Is there a way to trade pokemon between players? If so then they can sell rare ones to others and create their own business!

City of Tampa posted:I definitely would never call the cops for stolen property other than a car because I already know that they don't give a poo poo and won't do poo poo High school me had his iPod stolen and I was really upset about it. The teacher suggested I go file a police report with the school officer so I did that. Dude was super annoyed at me and then finally was like 'look we can file it but it won't do anything to be honest, the most that will happen is if he tries to take it to an Apple store the serial number will be flagged' and I said 'aw fine' and left. I even knew who took it. He didn't care. Lesson learned. City of Tampa posted:edit: in Florida you are legally required to pay the loving pawn shop whatever they paid the burglar to get your own stolen property back so maybe that gives you some idea lmao is it not on the pawn shop to not buy stolen goods?! doesn't that essentially mean pawn shops function perfectly well as fences?

My guess is that if the police don't want to get involved you could take the pawn shop to civil court to get your property back, but it may be cheaper to just let them keep it or buy it back than move forward with a lawsuit. Seem to remember something like that happening to my friend in AZ or CA. Can't remember what state he got broken into and found his girlfriend's necklace from her mother in a pawn shop like a week later.

How would a pawn shop be able to determine an item was stolen in every case. Also, couldn't you scam pawn shops by faking burglaries

Spunky Psycho Ho posted:How would a pawn shop be able to determine an item was stolen in every case. Also, couldn't you scam pawn shops by faking burglaries it relies on pawn shops self reporting, there is software, and police can run stuff sold at pawn shops against stolen items and potentially match something to a license. and usually they do, especially firearms and expensive electronics, but they may not always, idk what they have to do versus what they mostly do.

Have friend steal item, report missing after he sells it to pawn shop, claim item at pawn shop

Spunky Psycho Ho posted:How would a pawn shop be able to determine an item was stolen in every case. Obv they can't in every case but if the law is "if you bought a stolen item you have to give it back to the owner and just be out what you paid, maybe get insurance for that" a pawn shop owner is much less likely to accept high value items like jewelry and whatever from sketchy looking dudes asking 1/20th of their retail price. If the owner has to compensate the pawn shop, where is the motivation for the pawn shop to not just buy every single super cheap valuable a crack head brings in and not give a poo poo if they are stolen or not? Best case you just made a ton of money, worst case the original owner has to compensate you for whatever you're out of pocket. Spunky Psycho Ho posted:Also, couldn't you scam pawn shops by faking burglaries Spunky Psycho Ho posted:Have friend steal item, report missing after he sells it to pawn shop, claim item at pawn shop K so that's still larceny, conspiracy to defraud someone, and fraud. I'm glad people are cooking up baby's first scam ITT but they should know they might get away with that once tops before someone involved gets arrested and lol if you use a friend, you should sell something like an older television to what is clearly a crackhead, note the serial number, and report it stolen. It will show up at a pawn shop sooner than later. You better make it look like a break in happened so make sure the cost of repair and poo poo is such that you're still making a profit ofc.

Spunky Psycho Ho posted:Have friend steal item, report missing after he sells it to pawn shop, claim item at pawn shop they take your ID and even a thumbprint when you sell something to most pawn shops, so your friend would get arrested and he would owe the money to the pawn shop. If Florida wasn't barbaric the St Pete Times had a long article around Xmas a few years ago about a woman that had her digital camera stolen out of her car, reported it stolen, and it turned up at a pawn shop discovered by police during one of their checks or whatever. So the police call her and tell her where her camera is, and she drives to the pawn shop expecting to get it back and the shop owner was like "no you owe me the $100 that I paid the guy that stole your camera". So she called the cops and they came down there and verified that the shop owner was right. the punchline was that the woman was like "gently caress that" and didn't buy the camera back, then she went home and thought about how her kid's pictures and their first birthdays and poo poo like that were on the memory card, so she goes back and pays for the camera and guess what? the memory card was gone anyway.

poo poo, i had to lay down a print when I bought a fuckin' $29 weed eater at the local pawn. Paid with a card and showed ID and everything. I tried to argue but the dude was like "No print no sale" and went back to his meth It broke 10 minutes later. I found the same model brand new at home depot for $29. owned

They were fun, but a bitch to back-up and park for loading.

Pawn shops are great if you want to buy jewelry or a playstation 4. I got a nice diamond ring for 500 bucks that was 1200 at the legit jewelry store up the street. Also, PS4 games are all 10 bucks.

One of the major temp agency's in the south recently got in trouble for sending black workers to only the worst jobs. In their defense they said most of the companies they delt with would send all the black workers back with comments like, "They just didn't fit in", or "We want some good country boys."
