To those of you still taking about Novae: Reconsider. Patch notes just went up, and because we can't have nice things and the Stormcrow always has to be the only clan medium forever, the NVA took gigantic nerfs. https://mwomercs.com/news/2016/07/1595-patch-notes-1479-19jul2016 There are a lot of big nerfs on the IS side as well, Locusts are going back to being bad, Catapults took a serious nerf, and then the Blackjack got nerfed further for some reason plus some small nerfs to the Warhammer, Marauder, Battlemaster, and Kodiak.

I asked this thread's ancestor before I bought mine but didn't get a strong no so I did it anyway and have nothing but regrets. Logged on tonight and nobody in Mumble, as usual, even though there's half a dozen goons faffing about. The thing that did surprise me though is that I keep getting account injections for random crap. GXP, uavs, cool shots, etc. Why? I'm pub dropping in a marauder?

I thought I needed to be in a medium for it but I guess not. I won't turn down a free bonsai tree. Looking through the PDF of all the nerfs in the next patch I'm going to hate my Marauders. Odd that they'd buff the Jenner and Phoenix Hawk. Well, maybe not the P.Hawk.

So the LPL locust lost all of its -50% laser duration quirk. I was expecting at least a bit of a nerf (getting 400-600 damage on the norm was a bit much I agree) but that's steep. I'm gonna miss my little shitkicker

Much as I'm crushed, I can understand the nova nerf. It dominated the scouting event, and if I can hop in one and spit out 500 damage without really thinking, it's probably too good.

You can also take a 360 engine and shave half a ton off the legs. Fitting a BAP in there would require dropping the mediums which is imho not a big deal as they are mostly for additional heat anyways. Honestly though i dont think it should be on the Atlas to provide BAP support, especially since you bring the ECM anyways.

Since AMS tends to burn through ammo like hot cakes, wouldn't 2 half tons of AMS ammo be a fairly useful gamble as crit padding for an Atlas's AC/20? You get, what, 2000 rounds? By the time your right torso gets exposed on an Atlas... Well, people will be aiming for it. Maybe not. Darn. Feels almost wrong to fill up tonnage with useless Gauss Rifle ammo, and a BAP is nice but its biggest benefit gets overridden by having an ECM onboard too. Hmm. A lucky crit to the Ac/20 side with AMS could leave you without that torso, while a lucky crit with gauss ammo might just take out your Ac/20. It's made ER LL/normal LL builds on it a lot less attractive, but it should still be able to run an LPL no problem. It's still going to be pretty noticeable. Everything being changed lost a bundle of structure but the only thing that really hurts is the KDK-3 (sitting duck locusts are now more of a sitting duck while squirrel ones are still squirrel-y.)
