Because Pontius Pilate, while being basically a villain, acted upon the demands of Jewish patriarchs, with no desire of his own to persecute Jesus. The phrase "to wash one's hands over something" remains one of the most loaded, controversial idioms in any European language, with people arguing over its virtue / implicit admission of guilt to this day.

Does that seem like an ill omen to you?" and they of course got more answers along the lines of "yes" or "no, I'm not superstitious" than of people noticing the contradiction in the premise.

I can't wait for BM to uncover ironclad evidence of some new Russian operation or rebel atrocity because everyone involved posted their pokemon go finds. "Hey I found a rare pokemon in this mass grave me and my friends just dug PS here's our vehicle in the background, clear unit marks, and our passports" which of course would result in a snarky article from RT saying none of this can be taken as evidence because since when are children's video games used as in war crimes trials maybe BM should go back to his video games and let a real journalist investigate.

Well they released their articles all around the same time, using a lot of the same language, even spelling my name wrong the same way in some cases, so it's likely co-ordinated, and we've seen other examples of the same sites releasing stories on other topics all at the same time, so there's a pattern of behaviour there.

Kerry said the US would 'entertain' an extradition request, which basically means letting a US court tell Erdogan no instead of saying it directly; there's no way Turkey has probable cause sufficient to overcome a writ of habeas corpus.
