So a style of accidentally tripping with swords or pushing monsters/people into sharp objects or off cliffs.

Playing as a strong female character that could fight alongside any male character in her own right with brain damage that turns her into generic moeblob #738 is the saddest thing I can imagine. So it's perfect for a Berserk game I guess

For a series that is ok with unbelievably brutal violence, has statements made by horses raping women, and just overall brutal mentality about the world, you would think nipples wouldn't actually be a sticking point. As it stands, I'm glad I am watching Barbie: Malibu After Dark.

That's certainly better than Guts connecting to Casca for the memory recovery process, and having her "kill his dog demon" as part of her and his "return to fullness". The have a son (named Griffith) and daughter (Shierke) and adopt a puppy (Judeau). Isidro becomes pissed that he didn't learn all the secrets and becomes Black Swordsman Junior, trained by Serpico, and Farnese and Shierke rule the world as the two spiritual queens with their boytoys. All goes well until Guts and Casca are out for the day and their children are set upon by apostles. And we all know what apostles do to children. Skull Knight saves them (afterwards, of course, how convenient) and takes them away from their bad parents without ever telling Guts/Casca what happened. Story repeats as "Children of Berserk".

It's kind of like how you can show Hannibal Lecter slicing a woman in to thin strips and displaying her in glass on US TV but nipples are illegal. You can get away with a lot more nudity on Japanese TV but actual nipples are still out.

It's such a shame that the sections that are standard anime are really nice looking but then switch back to animation that would make Reboot look good today. The pacing on this show is really weird too, we're already on volume 18-20(?) for the Tower of Conviction arc. Anyone that is watching this right now with no prior knowledge is already saying "WTF is this?" Although I feel like too that Berserk has been around for such a long time that people watching it really are just fans of the manga so the narrative of the show isn't that confusing to them.

Guessing from the two big black censor bars this last ep, and the lack of colored areolae in the last two at least, this show's gonna have an uncut DVD/BR release to show the high quality animation off. Well, at least show the probably awkwardly modeled and hairless female genitals if not colored nipples. How they'd be a worth a second watch I have no idea yet. However if violence starts getting dumbed down later, then we'll know. Overall episode wasn't nearly as bad as you guys painted it out to be, but it's still fairly mediocre. I'll keep watching, though mostly as a snack to tide me over until new chapters.
