Oregon lady posts some crazy racist poo poo, is forced to cancel her upcoming festival, claims hackers "photoshopped" racism onto her page. Her Facebook history reveals someone who hates BLM. http://registerguard.com/rg/news/local/34602645-75/story.csp Edit: my other favorite part, claims Facebook will "investigate."

Don't bother, at this point it's like arguing with a moon landing or 9/11 truther. Choice of hobby doesn't have a massive effect on the number of stupid people doing it. And if you can't imagine a trainspotter or birder swerving all over the road trying to take a picture of a train or parrot you're not using your imagination.

I'm trying to get the owner of the bar I work at to do the lure thing, the closest stop is reachable half a block from our patio; its sparse-ish north of the river, and a lil bit run down, but its an old part of town with tons of old landmarks and at least one hardcore Ingress player, tons of gyms for a low density area only thing I keep thinking is that I wish there were lures that only worked on 21 and overs but other plays in town have managed without much trouble

bird watching, train spotting, and pokemon going are all the same in that if you somehow manage to die while doing it, good riddance

Bird watching has an element of risk in that "bird might not show up" is a very real thing. With train spotting you for sure know a train is going to appear.

The best part is that the dude didn't even say Republicans are racist. He said his entire family is Republican, and they are all racist. He made no attempt to broaden that statement, it was just an anecdote about his crazy racist family. Then the other dude started projecting and getting super defensive, and the comments got that much better. edit: of course the other best part is that Republicans are a race now.

This is probably stdh.txt but a friend of mine who works as a small appliance repair tech had a faulty robot vacuum on test in the workshop and it got outside. It was promptly ran over by the delivery truck that had new parts for it. Even though he is trustworthy with his stories I'm calling it bullshit until I see a photo of a flattened robot.

Some sportsfreude out of Chicago tonight. Chris Sale, a pitcher for the White Sox who is both pretty good and rumored to be on the block for trades (against his will), was supposed to start tonight. As starting pitcher, usually it's been Sox practice that he gets to pick the jersey he wants to wear, because you want your pitchers comfy. Today though, the team had been promoting these 76 throwback jerseys that the team would wear again tonight, planning to hand similar ones out to the fans and all, and come hell or high water the players would wear the throwbacks. Well, they didn't plan for Chris Sale with a knife. That's right, Sale cut up the jerseys so that nobody could wear them. He was scratched and sent home, and I guess we'll see if he still gets traded.

It was promptly ran over by the delivery truck that had new parts for it. Here's a real robot vacuum story. A friend of mine has two big dogs, and also has cameras rigged up in the house so he can check in online and watch them when he is at work. His house is mostly tile, with some rugs as well. He got a broken roomba from a friend who was going to throw it out, and repaired it by looking up how to online. One day one his dogs was sick, and he saw on the camera from work one of the dogs spray diarrhea on the kitchen floor. Then he watched helplessly as the robot vacuum drove all over it, spreading it as a thin glaze over the entire house over the next few hours. It took him hours to clean it up. He threw away the vacuum.

Malachite_Dragon posted:"They won't let me tuck my shirt in, so I'm gonna slice up all these shirts" what His job is to win games, not sell merchandise. Being told to sacrifice his comfort to make the owners a few more bucks has to chafe, especially when they might be trying to trade him. For reference: imagine your company was going to force you to live somewhere else, like Detroit or San Francisco. Alaois posted:its really not that loving complicated you gigantic nerd

Malachite_Dragon posted:"They won't let me tuck my shirt in, so I'm gonna slice up all these shirts" what It sounds really petty, but mild irritation can go a long way to affecting your performance at a task and when someone forces you to use a uniform you absolutely hate, it's distracting. When you potentially have an entire game riding on whether or not you do well, being distracted by your uncomfortable poo poo shirts would probably not help.
