Anything more then that though I don't get. Your an elected official. You would of known what the salary was when you went you run. If it wasn't enough you shouldn't of bloody run.

I think the general feeling was that the DNC was shown to be a complete mess with a really toxic culture, and since DWS was the head of it she takes the fall.

Especially since most of the party's left already hates her.

I agree. The geographical location isn't anywhere near as unique an identifier as the year in which it is happening. Another DNC might happen in PHL some years later - how will Twitter hashtag it in 2050?!

Someone's head has to roll. She's the head of the DNC, so the proverbial buck stops with her, and the fact that she was already stepping down after this campaign makes her a perfect scapegoat.

That the DNC, which she's in charge of, was cooking up anti-Bernie plots, despite her many public assurances that wasn't the case. The party needs to show that its committee isn't going to tolerate that type of behavior going forward.

On the bright side, this email scandal does nothing to implicate the Clinton campaign of any wrongdoing, which makes it easy to insulate Hillary from any of the blame.

It also means she can look like a leader when she "cleans up" the DNC.

Well that's kind of the whole thing, it was less a security measure and more of a "someone in control of the money is Very Concerned and Something Must Be Done" so they cooked up a hasty security-theater thing to retrofit. It took til some much later designs of missiles for the concept to even work right.

As a fun double-edged sword, everyone knows by now thanks to their bazillion attempts to make it stick that when they mean "Terrorism" they're actually saying "Islam".

Also some fun horror from that article

quote:

— Defended Ailes, who resigned from Fox amid sexual harassment allegations by numerous women. Trump described Ailes as a longtime friend and said “some of the women” complaining about Ailes have been helped by him in the past and earlier had said good things about him. “It’s very sad,” Trump said. “Because he’s a very good person. I’ve always found him to be just a very, very good person.”

— Criticized Kaine for accepting $160,000 worth of gifts, much of it for trips, while serving as governor. The gifts were legal under the state’s permissive ethics rules, but Trump said: “To me, it’s a big problem … how do you take all these gifts?”

— Took issue with descriptions of his convention speech earlier in the week as “dark.” ”It was an optimistic speech,” Trump said. Referring to his mention of crime as well as shootings and terrorist attacks both here and overseas, he said, “Sure, I talk about the problems, but we’re going to solve the problems.”

— Criticized Duke, who cited Trump’s campaign as an inspiration for his Senate bid. Trump was quick to say he rejected efforts by Duke to run for the Senate. In an interview several months ago, Trump was asked about Duke offering his support and Trump responded: “I don’t know anything about David Duke.” His initial response drew harsh criticism from Democrats, Republicans and civil rights groups,” and he later said “I disavow” Duke’s support.

#2 is maybe the only kind-of point, but it's also the most hypocritical thing imaginable.
