Lazer'n: The whole FBI/investigations/someone has to go to jail thing. Who do you think is going to demand that? Do you think it is going to be from Derek and the people in this thread? Most everyone here has grabbed a lifepod off this flaming wreck off a project. Sure, right now, a handful of folks are contacting various agencies trying to get some money back. For the most part, it seems like it is working--leavers are getting their money back and CIG gets to carry on with business as usual. The demands for someone's head will come from everyone on Reddit. A few of the more fervent posters will vanish into the nether as CIG folks/no one left to pay them to post. Of the 80% left on Reddit, 20% won't care/accept the demise, but that 60% are going to be so butt hurt they aren't going to stop raging for a few months. Besides the comedy, it will be interesting to see what comes from that period. I suspect as they cope with the stages of grief, the anger stage will be thoroughly entertaining. What will be the best part? Six months or so after the collapse, maybe nine months. The best game developer in the history of the world, Chris Roberts, will rise from the ashes and start a new kickstarter. This time he will have learned about scope creep and just need a few more years to rewrite the game using the Unreal 4 engine. The name of the new game: Profiteer! Just like Privateer except you give Chris money.

I'm glad this most recent backer exuberance has a firm time limit on it. CIG has 160 days to deliver all of this poo poo. I'm not even saying they should have to release it in that amount of time, they are just going to lose a nonzero % of the remaining backers if this turns out to be yet another empty promise.
