quote:

Just weeks after she started preparing opposition research files on Donald Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort last spring, Democratic National Committee consultant Alexandra Chalupa got an alarming message when she logged into her personal Yahoo email account.

“Important action required,” read a pop-up box from a Yahoo security team that is informally known as “the Paranoids.” “We strongly suspect that your account has been the target of state-sponsored actors.”

Chalupa — who had been drafting memos and writing emails about Manafort’s connection to pro-Russian political leaders in Ukraine — quickly alerted top DNC officials. “Since I started digging into Manafort, these messages have been a daily occurrence on my Yahoo account despite changing my password often,” she wrote in a May 3 email to Luis Miranda, the DNC’s communications director, which included an attached screengrab of the image of the Yahoo security warning.

Romney wasn't really right about Russia in any meaningful sense as far as I can see. He called it our "number one geopolitical foe" which is comical in light of American geopolitical dominance. Russia is weak state compared to the US, with many interests that are parallel to American interests. It's still capable of being lovely and doing lovely things though.

I'm sure Ukraine would've appreciated a heads-up from Romney about the whole Crimea thing in 2012.

No, they're very likely wealthy and will be shielded from any consequences no matter what happens, thus it's literally "hurts my feelings" versus "doesn't hurt my feelings"

Her approval rating doubled because people are sexist and think "Oh the poor dumb lady got taken advantage of and then mocked." A man who did the same thing would see his rating go down.

It is amazing that Hillary and DWS could do all this crazy house of cards poo poo and keep it all covered up for 20 years only to have it all exposed by crappy email servers. Old people not understanding technology is so interesting. Do you think things have played out similarly throughout history to usher in a new era. Like every time the old people manage to secure power and disregard the plebs some new technological or cultural revolution comes along and utterly destroys the previous rulers source of power.

It's basically impossible for the Republicans to get 60 Senate seats this year, even if Trump wins. I doubt McConnell would remove the filibuster. More convenient for him to use it to reign in Trump while pushing through all the judicial nominations they want and hope for better luck in 2018.
