Yea, his platform in the election in 2016 had nothing to help poor black people. Income inequality is only half of black people's problems. Where was he when BLM was starting up? It wasn't in Alabama. It wasn't in Mississippi. He made what. One, two? appearances?

What are the other issues facing them? This system of for profit prisons and mass incarcerations for low level drug crimes? Affording college? Things that are a major part of his platform?

I'm sorry, but I feel you are really misguided on your point.

He came to Alabama once. One of the biggest black populations in the South and the hottest of hotbed civil rights areas, and he couldn't come down here and tell us what he is going to do about the fuckery with the Alabama legislature making it near impossible to get an ID to vote.

We are struggling to get black folks registered to loving vote down in Bama because of the fuckery with Voter ID laws and closing licensed places in black communities. He didn't have poo poo to say about it.

This. A thousand times this. Making pain management harder to get for people who need it is in no way the correct response to addiction issues.

It does fit into the accusation that this supporters don't actually care about him or his values, and only about his cult of personality and sense of righteousness. Booing Hillary Clinton doesn't actually rally around any issue at all. Bernie's gotten more power in losing the primary than he's had in his decades in congress. His issues are in the platform, DWS is gone, and there is no conceivable scenario in which anything the DNC actually did made Hillary lose and Bernie win.

Their frustrations appear to be, more than anything, being on the losing side. Taking everyone down with you and helping (or even voting for) Donald Trump doesn't prove anything to those people who you haven't convinced except that you're a sore loser.

Thanks for responding to me without calling me lovely or salty! Appreciate the opportunity for respectful discourse :)

Your points about booing and the platform are very fair and true. However, there were key issues- TPP being one of them!- that were not included in the platform and that people still feel very frustrated about. I agree that boo'ing Hillary, even if based around these specific issues that were not included, is not good, and that protests should focus on issues instead of attacking people specifically. Acting in a reactionary way and voting Trump would be immature, but I don't see how this is going to swing voters who are already supporting Hil. And I still do appreciate that these people may be feeling frustrated and without a candidate at the moment, hence their taking the opportunity at the DNC to be vocal.

I think we're more or less in agreement on this point-- and honestly the TPP is probably going to be the big point of disagreement between leftists and the moderate wing of the part, as trade issues are one of those things that basically everyone, from any part of the political spectrum, campaigns on in a fiery manner and then promptly mellows about while in office.

Personally, I think this is good. Trade isn't really one of those areas that benefits from a "well I may not know much but as a simple guy who tells it like it is" point of view.
