I didn't know about this guy until today. Immediately subscribed. They're pretty good. Can't understand a word of Italian but the videos have English subtitles so that works just fine for me.

Besides as dark and bleak as the world of the Souls series tends to be, there is usually still life to the world. And Jolly Co-operation.

Also that video references Iron Pineapple who is also a cool Souls player.

It''s iconic, on the cover of the japanese version, and it's called "elite." Don't be an armor hipster.

The limited edition also depicts a close-up of the Elite Knight Helm reflecting the image of a Black Knight, so that 's two counts of it showing up.

I'm not sure what the cover art is supposed to be for the normal edition in our versions, though. It's a dude wearing armour that semi-resembles the Elite Knight armour with a sword that loosely resembles Artorias' sword and holding a shield that I don't think actually shows up anywhere, with a bunch of phantoms in the background that appear to be wearing the fluted armour set from Demon's Souls... yeah I dunno. Oddly there's also a version that just shows a Black Knight. Dark Souls 1's box art is a little all over the place.

But the Elite Knight set is indeed the "cover art armour" of the game, and besides that you also see it worn by both Oscar (The guy who got you out of your cell, gives you the estus flask and gives you the starting directions for your journey before he dies of his injuries) and Ricard in Sen's Fortress. It also looks really drat good.

Likewise the other Souls games feature 'cover art armour' that is pretty easily recognisable. Demon's Souls is the Fluted set and shows up on all of them. I imagine naming the armour set for 2 wouldn't really be a spoiler but I'll err on the side of caution and refrain from naming it anyway.

I prefer the fur around the collar on DS2's cover armor. Not that Elite Knight is bad, just the fur makes it look more regal.

DS1's iconic armour also had the advantage of being available, just lying around, fairly early on. I don't have the foggiest idea where Dark Souls 2's iconic armour is. I will agree that the fur collar looks pretty great on the cover, though.

Shame the coat's such an ugly teal colour though. Elite's navy and gold works far better.

Nope, it's still in the same place as it was in the initial release. Which also means, like you said, it's pretty easy to miss entirely if you're not the type to search every nook and cranny. Or follow a guide, I guess.

It's really difficult to talk about this without spoiling anything, but where they ended up putting the Lion Knight set was a real headscratcher for me too. It was pretty strange to make the suit of armor that they choose to put at the forefront to help sell the game where they did in the end - especially since the Elite Knight Set is so easy to get in comparison. You would think that the popular set in the last game should've been the well hidden one (Like, as a referential thing), but I can't say that I know the logic behind Fromsoft's choices.
