Definitely, the "American Dream" thread by Moonshine was a high point for me. Also: Bruiser's thread about driving a street sweeper. Angry Bee Dance's thread about working security in a hotel. Humper Monkey's threads and stories about being awesome. Microwave's smoking hot mom. The guy whose kids were taken away by CPS because he lived in squalor, but he got his poo poo together and got his kids back. Grover House The story of the girl who thought that video game characters were real, and that she could commune with them, and her roommates who had to throw her bum crazy rear end out of their house. And every lovely goon plan that goes: Goon: "I'm going to do this thing." SA: "That is a bad thing don't do that thing." Goon: "No, you guys are haters I'm gonna do the thing." Gord was a dude who had a video game store and put up a website where he wrote about how he laid down brutal ownage and sick burns on complete noobs and lamers who had somehow wandered into his glorious Canadian gaming paradise. It all turned out to be garden variety stdh.txt just as you'd expect nowadays in these jaded and cynical times but in 2001 it was pretty hilarious, so some goons decided to touch the poo poo and gave Gord a forums account. And wouldn't you know it, Gord turned out to be an insufferable rear end in a top hat who managed to annoy everybody who came into contact with his posts. This angered FYAD, who sent out their champion Corbalt to offer Gord a Starcraft loser-leaves-town permaban challenge with a hefty handicap: If Corbalt won ten times in a row, Gord would be permabanned. All Gord had to do was win once and Corbalt would eat the ban. Corbalt won all ten. Gord claimed only nine games had been played, then posted a lengthy Dear Richard diatribe before the hammer fell. Gord would later run his video game store into the ground and move to South Korea to follow his dream of teaching English to future K-pop stars.

While not as great as some of the other sagas mentioned already, the Zelda Wedding sticks in my head still. A goonette starts a thread asking for wedding advice and it comes out the wedding is going to be held at a con and will be Zelda themed. Naturally the downward spiral starts fast as people start to question a first wedding at a convention and why Zelda themed and the goonette has a fit over no one seeming excited at the idea of a Zelda themed wedding. It ends up spreading across three threads including one the goonette had in Ask/Tell about her having disassociation disorder, and internet detectivery turning up a good chunk of what the goonette's said about her life doesn't add up. I think FYAD even got involved at some point. I wish I had the threads bookmarked because they were definitely a read.

Wait, have I missed it or did nobody mention the goon that posted the "what's this stuff on my keyboard" thread and five pictures in there he is spunking away on it. That thread was sure something. Same thing happened recently on the YLLS watches thread. Somebody posts a pic of their new watch and their penis is hanging in the background.

[/quote] Oh God, I remember reading about this on LJ before finding SA, but swore associated drama spilled onto here, to. Unless I'm crossing wires with TWO different "married to anime on the spiritual plane" people, because I remember the guy who wrote about rooming in a large, old house with a complex rental approval process that still managed to take in a woman who worshiped some obscure JRPG. Eventually the uninvited guests and the damages caused a lawsuit and out of nowhere the thread went on mod forum only lockdown. This page has a link to the archived 2008 thread about the FF7 person. I don't have archives so maybe "Catherine Rain" is the same person after all?

Not specificslly forums but i remember being in high school, like 9th or 10th grade, and finding something awful. There was some article about babes of gaming and it was just a bunch of lesbian porn pictures with "reviews" of the games in an article, with the joke being that the babes were playing the games while loving each other. I think that was the joke i kinda forget, im sure it was just an excuse to post porn. The reason it sticks out to me is because i was browsing at school and they had blocks on everything around 1999, but not something awful, and i was basicslly unintentionally looking at porn while innocently looking for the next Jeff K article. I havent been able to find it again, but 15 year old me thought that was the coolest poo poo.

There is a new saga developing right now in the Star Citizen thread. Goons just figured out and outed that Chris Roberts' wife was previously a tickle fetish porn actress. Videos on pornhub. Somehow a sleuthing goon figured out that Chris Roberts worked in the same office as the porn studio years ago and likely hired her on as his assistant, later marrying her. You should all check it out. The Reddit fires are burning for our destruction now and it's all pretty hilarious.
