Who remembers that dumbass straddle bus idea? http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...car-traffic.htm e: Would be cool after driverless cars are a big thing I guess, but my first reaction on seeing that is "someone's gonna swerve into it while texting and all of the batteries in it are gonna go bang" Shalhavet fucked around with this message at 13:50 on Aug 3, 2016 |

I was under the impression those were limited in major cities where it would presumably be run, but yeah, a rolling 11foot8 sounds amazing.

More like a rolling 7'0, it's totally incompatible with normal-sized trucks. Interior looks pretty swanky though, more like a ferry than a bus.

Instead of rolling car decapitators they should be building subway tunnels or elevated rail. It;s like they wanted to be lazy but half assed it.

I didn't manage to read all of the previous thread, did Norilsk ever show up? Behold, Russia' most polluted city! quote:By some estimates, 1 percent of global emissions of sulfur dioxide comes from Norilsk's nickel mines. Heavy metal pollution near Norilsk is so severe that mining the surface soil is now economically feasible due to the soil acquiring such high concentrations of platinum and palladium. Also located above the arctic circle, sounds like a fun place. quote:"Children take refreshing dips in the pond on hot summer days, Mr. Stratyev said, despite his best efforts to shoo them away. “I tell them, ‘You can’t swim here, this is a heavy metal pond.’ ” Four years ago, a boy drowned; it took the authorities days to find his body in the sludge." On the plus side, it led to the creation of this website. OSHA.city

When I was young and really dumb I had a job working a motorized pallet jack to ferry pallets around a food distribution warehouse that was all temperature-controlled compartments; I was in the chilled receiving area, and this was like my second ever job and I didn't really know how things were supposed to go. One day I sprained my wrist on the way to work (fell off my bike) but my supervisor hated me because he had the idea that I was being brought in to replace him or something, so he just shrugged and said, 'Dominant hand still works? You'll be fine.' Not really knowing any better (and thinking I was hot poo poo at this point anyway) I went to work. ..and lost control of a pallet jack, slamming the forks into the bottom of one of the huge sliding doors. I thought I just made a bit of a dent that could've been fixed, turned out I broke a $2000 door.
