There's not just one "method." For some reason method acting has become the standard line any time an actor decides to stay in character between takes/when not filming, which takes from a poo poo ton of other ideas about acting and throws them into one. The only time I've ever been around someone "method" acting they didn't have a theater degree and it was a teen party movie about magical clones coming through time to kill us.

the setting and whatnot seemed great but pretty much every line of dialogue in the trailers made me cringe at its shittyness, not surprised the movie's yet another dc snoozer

You see, but you do not observe.

I liked the Animated suicide squad movie, and apparently this 150 million turd won't improve on a cartoon

The Wonder Woman cartoon movie was also surprisingly entertaining, and I fully expect WW to bomb now

It's a bit too "Girls get your tits out" for me, but it's not bad.

Jeremy Jahns, the Glass Joe of Youtube movie critics, liked Suicide Squad. So congrats on making it past the tutorial level, SS.

Y'know, deep down I really want these children's movies to be good because I love DC and even if it's not my preferred take on these characters to be all dour and "oh my god look at how badass..." money shots I would still love to go in and be pleasantly surprised.

That having been said, the schadenfreude of consistently watching DC and the WB fall on their loving faces while managing to seem like they're trying entirely too hard on one hand and nowhere near hard enough on the other.... that's a solid consolation prize.

Mmmm,
You smell like Lysol Wipes.

Ahahaha. WB used to own, and is still a part owner of Rotten Tomatoes.

Who wants to start a petition to shut down Rotten Tomatoes for inflating the ratings of DC movies for their corporate masters? I mean there's no way BvS deserves 27% when the far superior Supergirl (1984) is sitting at 7%.

It's a cheap shot given that the screenshot shows 81 reviews vs. 330.... but this bit in the middle of a review of a completely unrelated review of that Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion movie gives audio to what many of us have been feeling:

i just watched the ultimate edition and thought it was an amazing spectacle. I am so pleased I missed the theatrical version and even more pleased I remained spoiler free. I loved the mash up of Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman.
As usual Zack makes a beautiful film with amazing cinematography, and I thought the psychosis aspect of Bruces dreams was a great way of reminding the audience that this guy is not normal by any stretch of the imagination, which other bat films fail to convey.

Wonder Womans reveal was excellent and myself and my wife fist punched the air with a 'YES!' when she appeared with the awesome shift in musical score,

I loved MoS, I love BvS even more.

i'm honestly jealous of people like this. must own being able to watch any movie, or tv show, or read any book and enjoy it regardless of quality. it transports you back to a more innocent time before you walked out of a theatre for the first time realizing the movie you just saw was bad (power rangers was mine).

I recently re-watched Man of Steel and holy loving poo poo that's a bad movie in retrospect. I gave the early parts of the movie on Krypton way too much credit, the whole thing is just brutally terrible from start to finish. Michael Shannon and Antje Traue were both great but otherwise it's such a ponderous, pretentious slog. When Teen Clark saves a busload of children from death and his dad chews his rear end for it I couldn't stand it any more and quit watching.

JLU was the high water mark though Batman Brave and the Bold was excellent because they realized that DC comics can be goofy and good; even then "Chill of the Knight" is one of the best things made about Batman.

Actual conversation at DC:

:manning:: Let's make a movie about one of our top tier superheroes. One who is selfless, kind, dedicated and believes in helping people. The guy they made the word "superhero" for.

:goleft:: Who should we get to direct it?

:manning:: I don't know, but make sure he's a libertarian.
