Indiana hasn't been polled even once this cycle, so the aggregators are using 2012 data. That's it. This comes up a lot here and in C-SPAM and some people will write long explanations as to why it's redder than surrounding states, some of which actually reflect reality and some of which reflect a Ted Cruz level understanding of Indiana politics, but the answer really is simply "it hasn't been polled this year"

I'm constantly amazed over this kind of thing. I mean, did none of these people watch any of the Carter/Reagan debates? That's all Reagan did. Carter would say something and Reagan would laugh and *wink wink nudge nudge* at the audience. But if a democrat does it well I guess they don't want to debate honestly. But St. Reagan? You're such a loving lovely troll.

The Minneapolis city council voted in favor of raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour earlier this week just not using an initiate.

quote:

A majority of the Minneapolis City Council voted Wednesday in favor of developing a city minimum wage ordinance to raise the city's minimum wage to $15 per hour.
The hearing grew heated over the proposal, which would give the city one of the highest minimum wages in the country. The proposal passed with nine votes in favor, with presentation to the council suggested for early 2017.

The mere fact that she will have to treat him as a legitimate candidate for the job and show him some respect is pretty hosed up because we all know Donald is not going to play by those rules. Which is just further evidence to support the very legit probability that Donald will be declared winner of the first debate no matter what happens.

Also, the way the article present it, it sounds like it was actually a $15 minimum immediately referendum. Not a slow workup to it or a deadline set several years from now.

It's good to see that the council is directly taking measures to establish the $15 minimum, though.

What a joke. Instead of supporting an initiative that will put into place a real $15 an hour minimum wage it will be something like, "These businesses are exempt, these business won't need to pay $15 an hour until 2020 etc." Sooooo progressive! Democrats ignoring the will of the people is such a progressive thing! A real progressive thing would probably be to let the people pass it and have a court try to strike it down like with super special first city with $15 an hour minimum wage Seatac.

No, I wouldn't say the same thing to a group of private citizens protesting the system that I would to a group of elected officials acting in said capacity whose raison d'être in that role is to advance the interests of their constituents within the system.

Hahaha are you seriously just trying to look like an idiot?

You should probably read the link you quoted because the initiative you are arguing Minneapolis should change their city charter to allow is exactly what you claim to hate:

quote:

A group called 15 Now Minnesota has spent months petitioning, collecting thousands of signatures. It wants the minimum wage to increase in increments until it reaches $15 in 2020 for small businesses (employers with fewer than 500 employees) and $15 in 2022 for large businesses (employers with 500 or more employees).

The city attorney has said the proposal simply doesn't meet legal requirements and is unfit for a ballot.

Supporters of the increase met outside of Minneapolis City Hall to rally in favor of the proposal before city leaders took up the issue. KSTP's Tyler Berg says about 100 of the supporters went upstairs to the council chambers to share their stories.

The initiate you claim is soooo progressive treats Walmart better than any small business.

Well well, mister fancy-pants, I hope you're wearing your matching sweater today, or you'll be cut down like the ugly tree you are.
I don't know how much candidates are allowed to bring to the debates in terms of notes, but I honestly think Clinton's best strategy for the debates would be to show up with a list of quotes from Trump about various major issues, with one from each side (because he's been on both sides of pretty much every issue throughout the campaign). For every question, she should just let Trump talk, then fire back with, "Well, you say X, but on <date>, you said, and I quote, 'opposite of X.'" If he tries to weasel out and claim he never said that, she can just encourage the audience and everyone watching at home to look it up themselves on the source's website.

One of Trump's "strengths", if you can call it that, is that he occupies basically every position on every issue at once because nobody ever really challenges him when he contradicts himself. If Clinton actually forces him to take a stand on some position, it'll turn out that either he doesn't actually have a position, or his position is a horrible one. I don't know how Trump could make that look good.
