Yeah GF should have just made Finneon and Lumineon Water/Bug to make them stand out more, and it would fit since they're half fish, half butterfly.

The only reason I remember finneon exists is because my brain needs to store an example of "most forgettable Pokemon" I guess that's a little counter productive

At least Qwilfish has seen some niche usage in RU and UU, Lumineon gets U-Turn and Defog (only if you passed it all the way up from Gen 4). Also you can swap in to soak up a single water attack before dying horribly I suppose. I do wish Lumineon was more usable, but stat-wise it's nearly outstripped by Phione. Edit: I guess Lumineon could use Tailwind.

If I have Pokemon X then what ORAS should I get to have the most coverage? Which of RBY for that matter, in terms of picking up mons I won't find in the other versions?

I just went with Sapphire because I already had a Groudon from somewhere, so if you already have one of the box legendaries get the opposite one I guess. I wouldn't worry too much about version exclusives because you can get them all pretty easily nowadays on the GTS.

you can use gts to trade version exclusives from one game for exclusives from the other so it doesn't matter which you get

It also has the except same flower as Vileplume does, except smaller and two of them. And it has the same arms as Gloom and Vileplume and the same leaves as Gloom. It totally fits in with the Oddish line.
