I'll be more than happy to not use a scanner again once they re-introduce some way of actually finding pokemon near you within the app itself. Until then, I'll keep using a scanner but  at aimlessly walking hoping you're going the right way.

In other news, the scanner showed me a wigglytuff. It was my first one, so I decided to buy and pop a lucky egg before catching it. 15 minutes of evolving later (3 of which were new pokedex entries) and I decide to see how much time is left on my lucky egg. I never started it

That's a bit overstating it, I think some feature to see how far you are from the nearby pokemon is necessary. I just don't think it's fair to them if third party apps/sites are causing them problems because selfishly I would prefer they are able to focus on updating the game instead of dealing with that.

I don't wanna use scanners or gps spoof to farm pokestops, but the longer they take to fix the tracker or the capture difficulty "bug" the harder it becomes. I'm level 20, a 40cp Weedle shouldn't be breaking out of 7 balls and escaping.
