The way I have my screen size set at the moment, I could only read the top 4/5s of this panel; when I scrolled down to the 'Why mothers get gray' line, I just lost it. I can't stop giggling. It's the 'click' plus the final line that did me in.

Geez, that is inexcusably bad art for ITYOOL 2016, it looks like he traced everything from a bad 1930's comic book. The style is from that period, check the kid's face and the nurse's face/hair/uniform. Never seen a uniform like that in a modern hospital.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be happening in the 1930s or at least give the vibes (earlier strips had book and film references). Not an excuse for the art of course.

Every place does not operate the same way, but generally, during a 24 hour shift, those with some aptitude in cooking are the ones in charge of that, and others clean up after the meal. For most fire organizations, the meal is not part of a benefit package provided by an employer. The firefighters pay a certain amount each week, and those who are cooking go looking for groceries on sale.

I see you are one of those who believe that firefighters spend alot of shift time playing cards or goofing off while waiting for alarms. “Down time” on duty most often is used by ensuring that equipment that last was used on a call is up to code (checking masks, supplemental oxygen, bunker coats and anything else that was used.) There is also time needed to verify that the radios used to communicate back and forth are working correctly.

Some of the firefighters who I have contact with in my current job spend part of their duty time inspecting buildings under construction, to make sure that they are meeting international fire code regulations. Some firefighters review initial plans submitted with building permits.

Most are required to take classes to keep their skills up to date.

There is some controversy about this. He may not have been as radically changed as is commonly described, at least not the whole time between the accident and his death.
