A few months back I kind of hoped that when the election was done Trump would just go away and go back to being a second-rate reality TV star/scummy businessman, but now I hope that his image has become so toxic that no-one will ever want to do business with him again. Also just mentioning the name Trump brings images of failure and stupidity. I want his image to be completely tarnished from all this.

This could be the turnaround moment Trump needs. If Hilary is anti-getting-shot, that is pretty much the same thing as being anti-gun. Easily worth +4%; wavering republicans being reminded of a key issue on which they are closer to Trump than Hilary. The whole 'political correctness' angle of how one clumsily-worded phrase can lose you your job will play well in certain circles too.
