I always acted nonchalant and that helped a ton in HS/college. If I ask you out and you say yes, great! If you say no, I shrug and go 'alright then.' and act like I don't give a poo poo either way really. I can't even loving imagine how toxic that culture can get in a heavily religious area. But a lot of these kids get caught in the crossfire and turn into..... these weird sad manboys.
