I haven't had a chance to listen to that new 65dos yet but the new Russian Circles album is so dope. Calla especially. That's a contender for post-rock track of the year in my book. Also, y'all heard this new Alcest yet? A buddy of mine just told me they were coming out with a new album this year, which I didn't even know about. It's goooooooooood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwE5FG-pIdk e: Monolith on that No Man's Sky OST Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 23:13 on Aug 4, 2016 |

Because you weren't ready, but now I think your life may truly begin.

Thanks to Cymbal Monkey for mentioning Tiny Fingers a few pages back, The Fall is really, really good. If 65dos hadn't just put out their new album I'd say it was the best thing I'd heard so far this year.

New pg.lost: http://www.luoo.net/essay/762 It's interesting to me that they are apparently pretty popular in China. Also, new Wang Wen album on Sept. 30. Summer/Fall 2016 has been amazing after a long drought (at least for me) of good post-rock music.

Saw Russian Circles last night, man they are good, some of the best to ever do it across any genre. So much energy. They played my favorite song (Deficit) too Last time I saw them it was a pretty small show (maybe 200 people in a bar) this time it was even smaller -- *maybe* 100 people (welcome to Montana). Everybody was real hype though, so it was great. If they tour even within a few hours of you, I would highly suggest going.

Wild Light is excellent, but I think it helps to remember that the new 65dos is like, literally a video game soundtrack. It's better than the game at least.

They played my favorite song (Deficit) too An opposing take, I saw Russian Circles at ATG a couple years ago and honestly I thought they were dull as dishwater. I like Russian Circles well enough, they're not my favourite post metal band but they're pretty good, but when I saw them it almost sounded like someone had put on a mix CD with slightly worse mastering. I just did not feel it at all. Edit: Just found out we have an impending Grails album. Cymbal Monkey fucked around with this message at 19:04 on Sep 2, 2016 |
