I've had escargot a few times, and I can't stomach it for long. The best way to describe it is eating slick, oily rubber that tastes like whatever it's cooked with (in my case, garlic).

My mom loves to use meatloaf like playdoh to make weird AFP dinners. So I can say from experience that these came out of the oven as eldritch horrors. (Do you have those pictures please?)

Hamburger Soup 1 tablespoon olive oil ˝ a med sized onion, diced 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 pound lean ground beef 1 can condensed tomato soup, plus 1 can of water 2-14 oz. cans beef broth 1 cup of corn or other canned/frozen vegetables 1 cup small pasta, cooked to package directions Instructions Heat olive oil in a 5 quart pot or dutch oven. Add onion and saute for a few minutes, until they begin to soften. Crumble ground beef and stir garlic into the pot with the onions and cook until beef is no longer pink. Drain as much of the grease as possible. (I use paper towels to soak up the fat). Season beef with salt and pepper. Stir in beef broth, tomato soup and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn heat down to a simmer (medium to medium-low). Add the vegetables and continue to simmer until vegetables are hot,; about 6-8 minutes. Stir in cooked pasta. Divide into bowls, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve hot.

My mom makes something similar all the time. Same setup of tomato soup, beef broth, and water. We use browned hamburger (cooked in a separate pan) and usually kidney beans, rice, chickpeas, and solid chunks of diced tomatoes. Other additions have included onions, celery, and cauliflower. It's not exactly delicious unless you grab the spice rack, but it's serviceable and cheap.

I immediately recognize this as Natural Bakery Winnipeg rye bread. I have subjected that bread to all sorts of horrors. The other day I slopped a mixture of coconut curry ramen noodles/loose corn and peas on it.

Let me tell you how to take your gnocchi game to the next level: put some butter in a pan, melt it and put your boiled gnocchi in and sauté with garlic and broccoli, then top with pesto.
