It's hard to be humble when you're as great as I am.
Trump hires the best people

quote:

Veteran Republican operatives and key leaders from several critical battleground states say that at best, they've never heard of Trump's state directors or have only limited familiarity with them — and at worst, they know them, and question their ability to do the job.

“The Clinton campaign is very strong in New Hampshire,” said Ryan Williams, who served as a longtime aide to 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney and has extensive experience working in New Hampshire. Of Trump’s New Hampshire state director, Matt Ciepielowski, he said, “I’ve been doing campaigns in New Hampshire since ’08, I haven’t come across him.”

Across the country, one Nevada Republican said of Trump’s state director there, Charles Munoz: “I’m actually surprised, being one of the few battleground states out there, that they don’t have a more seasoned professional running their operation, because Hillary Clinton has a remarkable team on the ground in Nevada, demonstrating how seriously she’s taking the state.”

Trump’s list of state directors is peppered with a mix of young people who have no presidential campaign experience, as well as Republican operatives who have been out of the spotlight for years. In contrast, Clinton is boosted by Democratic operatives who led marquee races and helped shepherd Barack Obama’s victories in 2008 and 2012.

Presumably to be thrown over the wall.

Edit: I have to assume there's some alarm in the Republican party about the possibility of what's basically Russian infiltration of their party. Especially considering the establishment and many other wings like the Neocons are historically really anti-Russia, the idea that Trumpism is going to inject a permanent strain of "anti-Globalism" that boosts dictators like Putin and calls NATO a waste of money should be really worrying.

No he remembered and specifically mentioned it happened in 1993. You see kids,, we only had successful terror attacks under the Democratic presidents....

Hereby it is manifest that during the time men live without a common power to keep them all in awe, they are in that condition which is called war; and such a war as is of every man against every man.

Oldie but goodie for the day:

"Washington and other Western capitals have impeded potential progress through their often hypocritical focus on ideas such as democratization, inequality, corruption, and regime change," Trump adviser Carter Page said in a speech at a graduate school in Moscow in July, according to Huffington Post.

This sounds like the sort of thing an adviser to the Socialist Workers Party would say, not an adviser to the Republican Party.

My analysis of the GOP this year is that they are perpetually introducing new gaffs to an audience with an increasingly short attention span. Nothing can stick because the news cycle has been shortened until it simply disappeared. The Manafort stuff felt old by 10am this morning. The Giuliani bit will be buried before lunch tomorrow and whatever replaces it dead by dinner.

I hope no one thinks I find Russia or Trump to be good or honorable. I just find everyone on the world stage to be horrible people and you all do such a good job of covering those two already i figure I'd level the viewpoints.

The idea the 2010 election in Ukraine was illegally rigged is not backed up by evidence, making that viewpoint the conspiracy theory.

I'm going to be in a car for 5 hours, going through rural country and largely cut off from this election. There will be at least 3 gaffes in that time and I'll be glad to miss it all.

the president is way too classy and believes too strongly in the integrity of the democratic process—he wouldn't make any public statement about trump bring too much of a god drat kgb-guided idiot to get security briefings

but

Biden is not too classy for that

and trump or one of his campaign people are certainly dumb enough to make it public, to make accusations of partisan electioneering by the office of president Obama (Probama, as we say in the business)
