They'd probably get more rentals if the rental of the lens included a dedicated handler/pack-mule.

Who needs all that extra weight when you climb the trees outside the girls dorm? Apparently al Thani was a very avid birdwatcher. Speaking as one, I probably couldn't write a paper that would pass peer review on the subject of global warming off the top of my head, but yeah, the physics of global warming are not complicated and even someone with a bachelors in physics/astronomy/whatever could understand it. People who think NASA is some shadow organization that is doing sinister things like controlling the weather etc clearly never worked there. For the most part it's no different from your standard university atmosphere, except with more red tape and forms to fill out and training videos you have to watch.

VendaGoat posted:You kill a few astronauts and it's nothing but red tape and work work work. Hah. I once heard an astronaut talk about life at NASA during the Challenger disaster. He was arguing with someone in management about how they should go forward after the accident, saying that they should prioritize actual safety stuff more than they do rather than launch anyway to hit the deadlines they promised. The guy said "You don't understand everything that goes into it. If we don't deliver the launches when we say, Congress will cut our program. You astronauts can't prioritize it rationally, especially since you've got to worry about your own safety to the exclusion of everything else" To which he responded "Who really cares about missing deadlines? Blowing up astronauts is the fastest way to get this program shut down"
