I am excited for any remake, although a Gen 2 3DS remake with a not insane level curve is really what I'm after. Something about Johto got me unlike any other generation. Although a totally unified map is still the golden dream.

It was always interesting trying to figure out what to do with this abomination of a toxic orb guts ursaring  with no close combat or superpower  .Also I always took the toxic orb guts swellow in rental.

Keep in mind that backward compatibility was accomplished with a hardware switch that turned off the GBA hardware and activated the console in GBC mode.

They'll do whatever remake they want. They aren't doing it as a service so people can play games with less hassle. They have already remake 1-2-3 so 4 make the most sense. They might do 1 or 2 again just because nostalgia is high right now though.

I've trumpeted Gen 4 remakes since ORAS came out and I am certain they will be coming in 2017. Sinnoh in glorious 3D, which Game Freak gets better at doing with each game

I wouldn't be surprised if they just made Sun and Moon 2 instead of another "proper" remake. Especially since they made all of the poster child legendaries from previous games available in XY+ORAS.

Would absolutely love a Gen 4 remake because a) the engine was so loving slow and b) as a result those are the games I played the least. The games at the current speed with a bit of rebalancing would be lovely.
