The backgrounds in Civ 5 were beautiful, but I won't miss them. In fact, I would be fine with just the leader's animated face on the lower right of the screen running their mouth while I take care of business on the map.

The first is to be born in Joseon.
Considering they were Iranic yeah probably not. The civ team has always been pretty lazy about research on these kinds of things.

e: there actually are real names they could have used for some Scythian settlements iirc too, Herodotus names them

Someone asked them on the livestream to reveal Germany's agenda as AI (which is basically anything to do with you getting cozy with City States)...

But they went to Civopedia in game, and definitely just showed the names of every leader, expect a screenshot soon.

Motherfukcers just opened the civilopedia page

New Leaders confirmed:

Philip 2 (of Spain I assume)

Gorgo (no idea, but wasn't known before)

Harald Something

All the portraits leader confirmed too (nzegne of congo, gilgamesh, gandhi etc...)

Edit: Gorgo is the Queen of Sparta, Sparta confirmed as new civ!

He sort of trailed off while talking about germany's agenda when the chat exploded and after he closed it, he didn't say anything for a bit, I could have been over reading the situation I guess

I guess of all the civs to have two leaders for to start with I'm not mad it's Greece. A shame they went with two roughly contemporaneous ones rather than having like Gorgo and Agamemnon or something though

Seems really weird for them to do only one extra leader.
Also they said 18 civs at launch, right? There's 19 on that list, which is right when you include monty as early-access preorder DLC.

Well, that wraps up this graph. Mystery person 1 is Gorgo of Greece, Mystery Person 2 is Harald Hardrada of Norway, and Spain might get both Isabella (though she isn't in that screenshot) and Phillip II. Only question is why that makes 20 civs when the game is supposed to release with 19.

E: Jadwiga isn't in the civpedia screenshot. Maybe we're not getting Poland on release after all.
