When I was trying to justify my drinking to myself but also self-hating I used to watch Intervention so I could develop a system to hide things. Like I noticed that all the terminal drunks drank a handle of vodka a day, so I switched to cheap scotch. Whenever somebody would say, "and that's how we knew" I was taking notes. The show became the world's most depressing meme because every episode would end with a motivational poster panorama of a nice beach front rehab facility and then a bunch of white text on a black background saying how they relapsed and killed themselves 6 months later. I quit drinking in the end but it's no surprise to me that a rehab should would end up with a body count. Even if you recognize the signs there's nothing you can do a lot of the time. His diagnosis thing is pretty goddamn stupid and lovely tho, I'd like to see him justify it in front of a licensing board
