That depends. How much money do you have? http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C777435 (fakeedit: you can get a less flawless version for around £20k in the UK, don't know about the US) Wolfsbane fucked around with this message at 14:51 on Aug 19, 2016 |

Unfortunately, the closest you'll likely get to a Ur-Quattro is the Coupe GT, which is not Quattro. If you want an actual quattro, look for a 90 or a 4000 Quattro. Not turbocharged by default, but easily rectified. CommieGIR fucked around with this message at 16:11 on Aug 19, 2016 |

I thought a manual transmission in the first place is a pretty good theft deterrent these days, isn't it?

A beat-up early-00s A4, with the entire cabin full up to the windows with old mcdonalds wrappers and shredded newspapers and other garbage, except for the (stained, ripped) driver's seat. It never moves. Once in a while I'll walk by and the owner (?), a fat guy who doesn't look all that crazy or gross, is sitting in the seat eating mcdonalds and playing with his phone. No loving clue. Maybe if there's such a thing as opportunistic car theft, but I can't imagine that a professional car thief wouldn't know how to drive a stick. Anyone with enough gearhead knowledge and connections to boost a car would have picked it up at some point. Sagebrush fucked around with this message at 23:38 on Aug 19, 2016 |

Anyone with enough gearhead knowledge and connections to boost a car would have picked it up at some point. Sure, but most car thefts are thefts of opportunity. Almost all the car thefts in my area eventually get recovered because it's almost always some tweaker going for a joy ride or some homeless person living in it for a while. Plus judging by the sort of anti-theft device rigged up in that photo above, I highly doubt it's anything special enough for a professional car thief to care about. Also, just clutch-in and flat bed it.

Some friends of mine got carjacked at gunpoint by three thugs last year, after smacking them around some, they took the keys. It's a mini Cooper, and when they couldn't figure out how to use the ignition key, one of them said "gently caress it, can't drive a stick anyway." and they hopped in their car and sped off.

I believe something similar happened to another goon here a few years ago. Bad thing was the crooks kept the keys so they were still stranded.
