Well the closing ceremonies are nearly upon us and it looks like the entire event has gone off without a hitch. I seem to remember GBS gleefully anticipating worldwide pandemic levels of Zika outbreaks, non-stop carnage as the athletes are robbed/kidnapped/murdered and incompetence at every level of planning. Instead we had: -some debris in the water during the rowing events () -some algae in the diving pools (WTF!!!!!!!!!) On the other hand we've seen the pinnacle of human athleticism and displays of sportsmanship and unity that define the Olympic games for normal well-adjusted people. My advice for all you computer Nerd's is to soak up the last day of events to see what hard work and discipline looks like before you go back to WoW raiding in your Mom's basements.

Lets not count the holes in the velodrome repaired by duct tape and paper, many nearly empty events, Brasilian athletes causing issues, rudders jammed by couches, multiple robberies of athletes (not including Liarchte), and a slew or racist actions by what can be assumed as host country memebers. Also unready and unfinished olympic village housing. Oh and the whole several people nearly dying on the tight rainforrest turns of the cycling course. Oh speaking of biking the literal garbage fire that shut down practice and scorched the Mtn Biking venue. But who's counting right.

RE: Chiller punishing the swimmers who stayed out after curfew Apparently the swim team were real jerks and refused to bond with the rest of team Oz during the event. They would do things like take down inspirational posters of non-swimming australian athletes, take down team aus mascot posters and replace them with swim team logos, never mingle with non-swimmers in the common area, etc. Then they pushed a big hoobastank in terms of actual medal performance. I wonder if some kind of collective punishment is going on.

All we know is that this empty milk carton floats faster in certain lanes than others."
