That's why I generally save a disco for later on, and try to stuff the same colour orb into all the hard-to-get corners, before blowing them up with the disco. Two-layered corner barriers suck.

I like his character arc of struggling to find ways to support his future god-empress girlfriend when he's got the bargain bin of superpowers while all the girls around him are literal super heroes. It beats just being slightly exasperated by Usagi's antics while always arriving to battle scenes fashionably late.

Here's a tip that gets me either first place or missing the first star by 100 often: You want to change the board more than anything else, because changes can and do lead to a huge combo. This doesn't necessarily mean switching two specials, just swap two objects so that the largest change in the board can happen if you can't mix two special blocks or make a special block. I've combined paint blocks with the most plentiful color in the stage before and gotten two paint blocks out of it. Also a 50 combo that got me up to the multi-hundred thousands.

Something else to keep in mind is how Luna Bonus works too. If you can get to the second level of Luna Bonus (8+ moves or more), it really piles on the score. For an event like this where stars are of the utmost importance you basically want to rack up as much score as possible, which really means "beat the level in as few moves as possible."

Ok I cannot do this stage. gently caress Stage 12. It'd be nice if I could modify the save to automatically unlock Ami and the other event characters and give myself a plethora of the premium items but of course its got some sorta unnecessary always-online bullshit that'll probably notice a changed save and delete all my progress or ban me or some poo poo if i modify it. I can't even try to get loving special pieces save for stripes and the very occasional popper or prism but they're never any good because they either get wasted immediately by pieces dropping nearby (Stripes and Poppers do this all the loving time, but its worse when i've got three stripes all pointing the same way all getting stuck on the same line so two of them just end up getting wasted.) Or nothing good is nearby (Oh all the greens are in the corners? Well too bad the second you drop a green next to that prism i'll auto-clear them so more hearts and stars drop!) Two barriers left? Too bad they're in the corner and the only moves i'll give you near there are ones that'll take pieces *out* of the barrier so they don't get cleared!

I am vastly considering safely exiting out of the event without any more rewards. There's two stages till the next unlock, one of which is a barrier stage (gently caress barrier stages), and the unlock is 110 stars. I have 98. It's doable, but the rewards are only around 6 growth stamps, and the growth crystal is at 135 stars.

Until they start forcing people to clear all five circuits, however they're presented, I'm happy just going to three and getting the character.

I don't really mind doing all five circuits (as shown by me actually going up to that stage), but the rewards this time aren't really worth the amount of effort I'd have to invest into it. In the previous events, you got items every two-three stages, as well as growth stamps or other items for clearing it. This...not so much, especially since I have enough growth crystals stocked to max level a character any time I feel like it. Given the previous stages, I can probably expect to see at least another two barrier stages, and probably a harder version of stage 26. Feels so bad leaving it unfinished, though.

The one it's happening to is Beryl, and she seems genuinely grateful to Usagi for snapping her out of it. I don't know if the rest of this game or Sailor Moon in general bears this out, but I assume the "dark god" that's awakening is Metallia, and Beryl's dead right when she says it's trouble. Odd. The way it reads in the translation, it's more like Beryl: Maybe I should worship Apsu's comet (instead of Metallia) Usagi: No, that'll never turn out well.
