Oh hey a coffee thread! Here's my recipe for Double Coffee: 1. Make a french press at 1:8 coffee to water ratio using 170F water 2. Add boiling water to make it 1:16 3. Make a pour over using that coffee instead of boiling water 4. Try not to poo poo your pants

Had a lot of decent to good coffee in Stockholm and Oslo last couple weeks. Their tea culture is loving weak, though. You can't get a pot of tea for any price or even a cup larger than about 6 oz (Lipton breakfast blend, no refills, that'll be 30 Kr please).

Still have a bunch of work to do but I've run my first training against actual data, created a hidden markov model classifier, and it can now successfully detect the sound coffee makes at a critical stage in the roasting process ("first crack"). To the best of my knowledge this is the first application of ML tools to the coffee roasting process, likely on account of being an entirely stupid use case.
