Before this gets too embarrassing have some blackened speed thrash produced by Joel Grind.

I can't tell if the second half is actually better than the first or if that's the heightening blood alcohol content.

I thought their album Relentless Reckless Forever was a step back in the right direction for them. I can't quantify that, I just know that I skip a lot of songs on all of their other newer albums, but that one was really enjoyable.

It seems like he spins off a new side project for every distinct sound he decides to dip into.

The last Children of Bodom album was pretty awful but apparently the deluxe version had this rather good Amorphis cover which was kind of uncharacteristic, given that most of their covers are intentionally bad and dumb

That In Flames song sounds sort of like a mediocre rip off of newer Soilwork, which is, I guess, about the nicest thing I can say for In Flames at this point.

A few pages ago we discussed the weird fans that are obsessed with Tarja Turunen, the former singer of Nightwish. Now, even though I enjoy a lot of their music, it's clear that many of the people who like it get really obsessed with them; it seems to be a rite of passage for overweight goth girls to develop an unhealthy fixation with some of the band members.

Well, guess what? A bunch of fans got together and made an hour long documentary about the nightwish fandom. I've only skimmed through it, but it seems to be as awkward as hell: http://yle.fi/aihe/to-nightwish/english

EDIT: Some of the stories do seem to be kind of endearing. Others are just creepy and awkward.

This album is some seriously good poo poo:

https://witchesbrewthrashes.bandcamp.com/album/evil-aggressor

Their bio is quality too:

quote:

A bastardization of D-beat, Speed and Heavy Metal with majestic guitar solos, they definitely don’t re-invent the wheel, they just cover it with spikes, light it on fire, and hurl it down a mountain towards a church picnic while slamming Coors banquet beer and hailing the goat. Solidified, electrified, and drunkified, LETHAL SHÖCK is the vomit coated boot on the back of every poseur’s skull.
