Since we're doing shoes:

Photo doesn't do them justice - they are the same colour as high visibility safety jackets.

Exciting stuff!

New Balance's Leadville trail runners are phenomenal for hiking and jogging on rough trails, by the way. Probably my favorite pair of shoes that I've ever owned.

Only downside is that I've nearly worn through the tread in the sole and I've only had them for < 6 months. Doesn't seem to be as durable as my Merrell Moabs, though they breathe better.

Finally bought some new laces to replace the frayed laces on my cycling shoes! :woop:

Water resistant is, in my experience, fine in heavy rain as long as it doesn't collect anywhere and you don't put it down in a puddle. It just has to let the rain run off.

I backed for one too, just now

It's not shoes, but I wandered into a local artists co-op gallery in St. Augustine yesterday and wandered out with this:

The lady who painted it was actually the one looking after the shop that day, so it was kinda cool being able to chat with the artist (though I didn't actually realize the painting was hers until after I left). First time I've ever bought a painting from something other than a garage sale or thrift store :3:

Kickstarter backpack mans: just cancel that and buy from Mission Workshop. Yeah it's 50-100% more expensive, but they'll 100% deliver it to you in 1/10th the time, so the math adds up.

But there's no option for zero g suspension or cool magnetic closure methods???

As far as the delivery goes, I'm not too concerned about KP coming through with their Dec. estimate. A friend and I both backed their last Kickstarter which was a very similar product with a very similar price and they delivered it on time.

Depending on how seriously and often you plan to hike and if you are going to go in the mountains, buying cheap hiking boots can be a very disappointing experience.

I destroyed twice a cheap pair of hiking shoes (torn off the sole) while in the mountains, 2 days of walk from the nearest city, and I wish that to nobody (the second time I had duct tape, but still, it was terrible)

Yeah - by "cheap" I mean $100, so it's not exactly bargain bin. Plus LL Bean has the ultra turbo return policy so I'm set if they fall apart

I do, it's like the first game but they've definitely done some good work integrating nonlethal stuff and giving more options overall but especially nonlethal options.
