I agree about Rex. It was nice to see him just be genuinely concerned and helpful to someone, and not in some outlandish way. "I can't really fix it, but I can check out what I can until you see your specialist." I just felt good reading it today, no joke.

As for lawyering in JP, yes he does plan to do more of that, according to his blog.

3. Speaking of “law shows,” we will be bringing back the legal aspect to this strip, given that its first name is “Judge.” (Unless I am mistaken and the strip’s “Judge” is not in terms of a court of law but rather Fast Times at Ridgemont High‘s Reinhold. I will now pause to let every guy or girl over 40 to reminisce about the Phoebe Cates bathing suit dream sequence.) And by “law” I mean all aspects, from attorneys to judges to local police to government officials, as well as vigilantism and even outright criminal activity.

And it would be a Luann commenter who would have to google three well-known children's songs to see if they have the same tune.

Yeah, it's great, and in retrospect it makes the old lady not being a mob boss or whatever better-forget being out for blood on the strip's cast, the new writer is really turning it into something nice and engaging.
