Vor einer Weile habe ich gehört, der BND plant transparenter und ehrlicher zu werden. Mehr Offenheit vom Geheimdienst? Da habe ich mir ernste Sorgen gemacht, der BND wird noch nutzloser als vorher. Ein Geheimdienst und Bürgertransparenz? Total bekloppt und ein sicheres Zeichen für fortgeschrittenen Hirnschaden bei den Verantwortlichen, war meine erste Reaktion. Heute habe ich diesen Artikel in der Süddeutschen gelesen. Dieser Artikel demonstriert, was der BND mit mehr Offenheit wirklich meint. Jetzt bin ich wieder beruhigt, mit diesem Level an Transparenz kann ein Geheimdienst gut auskommen!

Finalized paperwork today and moving to Germany on Friday to take away some poor German's job (just kidding, it's highly specialized). Getting anything done in Germany is glacial compared to Poland, and, as far as I'm told, the coming weeks will be full of fantastically long-winded bureaucratic processes to settle back in (spent a year in Bödensee two years back, though that hardly qualifies as Germany). Looking forward to slowing my life the gently caress down in the coming year and unplugging myself from the rat race/ongoing dread over career safety in the Polish wild capitalism setting.
