I don't really like the app. The interface is a pretty big step down from the website version and the one time I tried to play a game with it was miserable. Is there no way to lock your list? As for the game itself, my regular opponent and I've been gradually adding rules and holy poo poo am I kinda sick of playing Nomads against PanO without any decent tricks. Swiss and Aquila Guard pretty much just wreck anything and everything with little to no repercussions. I'm really looking forward to someday having smoke, white noise, marksmanship 2 TR remotes, and hacking in general. I'm thinking of suggesting that we go back to the OIS basics in the meantime because it feels like I don't get to use any of my good stuff while PanO can use all of theirs. Anything I'm likely missing?

Yeah, I play NCA pretty often and most games have an Aquila guard playing statue while my wip 12/13 hackers get wrecked by an interventor (or, you know, ghulam).

So I've been playing Haqq'islam vs. Combined (Bahram starter vs the one with Unidron batroids) and having a great time. I was thinking of picking up Yu Jing as well, but I see the Janissaries are coool HI for the Haqq - is that a good choice? I like the idea of the mech also but not sure how it would translate to smaller games (i.e. 200ish) between beginners.

Janissaries give you the hands-down best doctor in the game. Plus the sculpts are freaking gorgeous. They're a great way to burn up a lot of points in a few minis if you're looking to increase the number of points you're fielding, like as part of an escalation league or something.

There is an iPhone app, but it's not great. If you have an iPad, Mayanet is the premier mobile application until CB gets their act together. Probably even after that point.

I think 4 is the realistic max. More than that is putting too many points in suicide flamers imo. Edit: or this is what i tell myself so i don't buy four more...

Holy smokes, those Suryats. I cannot wait til I can have an actual Suryat Haris or duo running around like some kind of order-efficient murdermachines. And the Raicho pilot, I never have the tag survive long enough to eject, but you know just in case, it'll be great to have a badass looking model to shoot it's little pistol around.

New ITS season is upon us!  Highlights: - CB "upgraded" their winner pack, public reaction split between "meh" and "wtf is this poo poo" - new mission "Capture and Protect" - Beaconland, Coffin Raiders, Emergency Transmission, Beacon race missions removed - New optional rule: Limited Insertion (limit of 1 combat group). Realtalk about the ITS pack. I ran an ITS tournament recently that had a much smaller turnout than I usually have, and that would've worked fine with the old style pack (Pre-renegade?), as that also had a few blisters and a box of minis. With an ITS pack costing as much as it does, the new one can really devour the budget of a small tourney, and leave underwhelming rewards. I had to dip into my own pocket so that third place on the podium received a reward that exceeded the cost of entry. also wow the paper terrain packs are such bad inclusions

Yep, the new ITS pack is a pile of poo poo. Ugly LE mini, cardboard terrain no one cares about, silhouettes/camo tokens (win 6 whole seasons and you'll get a complete set of player aids!  ), limited alternate classified deck art  The fact that there's only 1 winner diploma is a rotten cherry on top. It's a piece of paper, it's not like it's that expensive to provide them for the first 3 places. ...I want the old winner packs. With trophies.

The store I was running the event at charged me full retail, too. That's $145 AUD. They're nice guys, but I think I'll go back to hosting at my club. Our normal sponsor does it for half that much.

Also, is it worth picking up Isobel for defensive hacking when you are running a Blackjack? I haven't played enough games to get a good sense of how prevalent hacking is....

Most of the nasty hacking programs that your blackjack might encounter can either be fixed by Reset or will require an engineer (specifically status effects like isolated or IMM-2). Plus he let's you bring some cheap remotes for more orders to fuel your blackjack with, and is the only person with d-charges in the sectorial.
