Both are relavent in their own way and generally are at the forefront of synthesizing the latest/hottest memes. That's the interesting thing about memes is that they're so deeply woven across multiple communities where their may be overlapping membership that it might be fallacious to consider a meme to have "originated" in one spot any more than an electron's location can be pinpointed. Take the Cucky pizzone meme for instance. It's absolutely taking the web by storm and seems to have sprung up overnight, yet when meme experts try to trace its "etymology" it's like seperating the finest scarf woven from nanofibers. A task we will need more powerful computers for. The "data" just isn't there yet.
