few fun facts

1) This is illegal
2) There's absolutely no proof of this.
3) Trump spends a lot of time courting the Russian elite, whoops.

Oh hey, so not only is Roger Ailes a massive creep towards women, he also very likely engaged in illegal phone hacking:

quote:

The executives both above and below Roger Ailes looked the other way while the Fox News chief engaged in "predatory" behavior, Ailes' biographer Gabriel Sherman writes in the next issue of New York magazine.

Ailes was able to get away with so much, according to Sherman's sources, because the conservative news channel's profits gave him autonomy.

21st Century Fox (FOX) patriarch Rupert Murdoch tolerated Ailes' secretive behavior and "didn't appreciate how toxic an environment it was that Ailes created," a person close to the Murdochs told Sherman.

The most headline-grabbing part of the cover story, which was published online Friday morning, is that Fox News "obtained the phone records of journalists, by legally questionable means."

Citing "two sources with direct knowledge of the incident," Sherman says the channel's general counsel, Dianne Brandi, "hired a private investigator in late 2010 to obtain the personal home- and cell-phone records of Joe Strupp."

Strupp, a veteran reporter who worked for the anti-Fox organization Media Matters at the time, "had written several articles quoting anonymous Fox sources, and the network wanted to determine who was talking to him."

Sherman doesn't name the investigator. He says that Brandi, through a spokesperson, denied the allegation. But the claim tracks closely with previous reports of shadowy investigations by Ailes' allies.

Sherman quotes a Fox executive as saying, "This was the culture. Getting phone records doesn't make anybody blink."

David Farenthold is claiming that Trump set up the Trump Foundation so that whenever he wrote out a check for a charitable organization the money came from the foundation, and never out of Trump's wallet. The reason the foundation got caught making an illegal political donation was that the group was listed as a charity by mistake. Just when you think Trump can't get any more crass or cheap.

It's much further than that too the idea that she believes in any accountability is laughable. She ran a private server deleted emails then lied and said she only deleted personal ones not related to work, which has been proven to be false. Also she attempted to blame Colin Powell for setting the precedent of running a private server, when she already had it up and running, then went ask Powell about the legality of it.

Your timeline is woefully wrong. The server was setup, originally for the campaign. She talked to several former SoS all of which mentioned running their own email address because State's IT department in 2008 was in the loving dark ages. She said they deleted personal emails to the extent they could determine. Which, even the FBI director said was fine and that there was no evidence that they had attempted to hide anything. Most of the emails they found that weren't turned over were only able to be found by going through them line by loving line for six months with a huge staff, and none of them were particularly not worth. She's also said that was the wrong decision and has been pretty darned compliant with this entire, bullshit investigation that is at least partially rooted in State vs FBI rules on classification.

We rate this statement as, Mostly False.

So, taking money from George Soros means you have no "moral compass?" Well I guess no Democrat for like four cycles has that.

But I guess it's okay for Trump's campaign to take plenty of dark money vile, right-wing billionaires who want to destroy the welfare state.

Also she hasn't taken any money from Saudis, that would be illegal.

This is again, just bullshit.

The reason why the press publishes anti-Clinton articles is that a large fraction of the population has an obsessive hatred of Hillary and will literally read anything negative about her. It's just economics. Newspapers can now monitor which articles people look at on their websites and find out what kind of material people like to read about it and the Hillhaters just eat that poo poo up and ask for more please sir, no matter how minor the "scandal" is. Unfortunately things will only get worse during her presidency but I weigh that against all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that we'll hear on November 9 when half of America throws a collective tantrum. I'm scared because I might die from a fatal overdose of schaedenfreude. But what a way to go
