All very low bitrate so that it could fit in 180k of memory, so everything was very slowed down and drenched in reverb to smooth it out. Is there an article or interview or something you heard this from? Sounds pretty interesting and I love reading about poo poo like this. It's like on that show Forbidden Places on the Discovery Channel where they went to Acclaim/Iguana during the production of Turok 2 and spoke with the Foley artists. They would punch pieces of watermelon and poo poo to get that perfect wet gorey crunch sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJXHyXxM0fg Mak0rz fucked around with this message at 19:49 on Sep 2, 2016 |

As a sound designer who has done foley (though not for anything big-budget), it is indeed fun. I had to design UI sounds at my previous job, and I found the perfect click was from taking a toilet paper roll and flicking it with my finger, mixed with quickly touching a piece of paper. Way less exciting than what the Doom guys have done, but fun nonetheless! Audio is wonderful

I wonder if they will release a version of Mapster32 for this version if they did any changes to the engine. Or if you can play old/new Duke maps and addons in it. Probably not, right?

All development was actually outsourced to a nameless Korean mobile game studio; all eight maps will consist of single-sector rooms plastered with dukeburger textures floor-to-ceiling and k-pop idol songs. The leftover 80% of funding meant for the game will instead be covertly-shifted towards Battleborn 2: The New Batch.

Hahaha, what the gently caress. The recommended specs on PC are just silly: OS: Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10 x64 Processor: Intel Core i3-530 (2*2930) or equivalent AMD Phenom x4 9850 (4*2500) or equivalent Memory: 2048 MB RAM Graphics: GeForce GT 610 (1024 MB) or equivalent Radeon HD 6850 (1024 MB) or equivalent DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 1200 MB available space This is for a loving port of Duke Nukem 3D. Also, no discount at all for owning Megaton Edition.

Wait, he does? Wow, good for him! I''m basing my attitude towards Polymer based on how it always kills my framerate on complex maps, didn't know about the accuracy though. Isn't someone trying to restart development on it on the duke4 fourms, PolymerNG or something? Edit: looks like there is steam workshop support so there is definitely SOME sort of modding, I have to imagine? I just wouldn't put it past Randy to lock everything down. To be honest, looking at those requirements I'd say they're a good baseline for a PC that isn't obsolete in terms of feature set rather than hitting some performance target. The GT610 is an very weak GPU.

The only requirement that looks odd to me is the disk space, seems like about twenty times as much as the game ought to take.
