Whenever I see someone with the name Ezekiel, I think they must be Amish or from a similarly ultra religious background. Like, a Children of the Corn background. It just never penetrated pop culture enough like John and Michael and all those other bibical names.

Sure it did. It just mostly happened under the shortened form "Zeke" instead.

The central character of the great new Netflix show The Get Down is named Ezekiel (and goes by "Zeke"), but he's a half-black, half-Puerto Rican kid in his late teens, growing up in the Bronx in 1977 (which means he would have been born in the '60s). That all computes.

I think it's kind of a generational thing. Like, in the 30s, a guy named Zachary would be a grizzled old prospector type, while Shirley was a common girls' name, while now Zachary (although he probably goes by some variation of 'Zach') is some kid playing Pokemon Go while Shirley is yelling at him to get off her dang lawn.

Have her look very posh with gently caress off heels that still make her come off as vaguely dominatrixy while having her dress in something that isn't somehow more objectifying than just being naked. I could dig Vampirella doing kind of a "posh dominatrix version of Deadman's costume" look.

That cartoon gives me good Ren n Stimpy vibes. Like maybe in an alternaverse John K. smoked some good weed and chilled the gently caress out and went into webcartooning, and his designs didn't turn into sausagepeople.

Flash and Cyborg look like they need to go back to the Lazer Tag arena. Batman looks like he's about to burst out that suit and marshmallow fluff will spill out. Superman legit looks like that Rob Liefeld Captain America drawing. Wonder Woman is actually decent but the bodice still looks way too uncomfortable, especially for someone with more of an "ancient warrior" bent. Aquaman looks like the perfect intersection of Khal Drogo, Thor, and Drax in a way that's not too offensive in its own right but when put side by side with the rest of these weirdos is just disappointing.

I like that flash. It streamlines him and gives him an interesting silhouette that is distinct from the other superheroes in the lineup, and it looks kind of like really specialised sportswear or something. It's a good look. It emphasises his thighs and downplays his arms, too, which is a good way to communicate that his thing is running.

I am actually ok with Wonder Woman (wedges aside). Given the actual look of ancient greek armor would include things like sculpted pecs/abs and belly buttons, I think the bodice is in theme. I do wish that they had made it come all the way up to her shoulders/neck so that it more closely mirrored the look, though. I'd also prefer her skirt to be longer/more armored, but again it actually copies the hoplite look reasonably well. I have no idea why you would cast Jason Momoa for the part and then give him a costume that covers him up so much. Especially since Aquaman has already had very iconic looks that were bare-chested. If they wanted him to look a little more combat ready maybe they could have gone gladiator-style and given him one shoulder and sleeve to match the trident.

This is just my preference--I really want to see a Wonder Woman who looks like a scrapper when she goes into combat. Someone who can move and move fast, and part of that is being able to twist her torso whenever she wants. A bodice like she's wearing is great when she's being a Diplomat (e.g: rubbing elbows with power players who were the types who actually wore that sculpted armor in Ancient Greece/Rome), but when it's time to fight she'll pull that poo poo off to reveal a light leather tunic/bodice deal.

I think the diplomat aspect is an important part of the character, so its ok if its played up in the costume. I'm a little uncertain of having too many costume changes in a movie. It does work sometimes when it's part of a clear pivot though, like when Captain America switches from his goofy USO costume to the combat mode once he decides to take control and actually punch some Nazis. So in that sense you could have Wonder Woman arrive in her rad diplomat gear and then when whatever happens that she has to get punchy she switches.
