Well I'm a huge nerd who spends most of my disposable income on action figures and video games but like I have a decent job, I pay my bills on time, I have a solid credit score, I don't go around without showering, I don't eat fast food every meal... I don't think having nerdy hobbies means you are a manchild. I think you can be a responsible adult who just really likes Batman.

I like comics and have a surfing Batman on my work computer, but can still (sort of) do my own taxes, hold down a conversation with other adults, and not throw a tantrum when someone disagrees with me. Nothing wrong with having hobbies, as long as you can still grow up and think like an adult.

I'm a university student that wants to teach history, so I take as much opportunity as I can to indulge in dumb things like comics. Granted, I have a much more serious interest in film as an art form, and I feel pretentious just saying that. Edit- Speaking of which, I saw theater version of The Lion King last night, and that was a really impressive show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTD9n7FkyVo I've had this drat song stuck in my head all day though. Rob Liefeld's history with Biblical comics is pretty long. Twenty years ago, there was The Godyssey featuring a dream sequence where the Greek Pantheon confronted Jesus on the cross, so he jumped down and started fighting. In 2010, he started posting "Zombie Jesus" comics onto his blog but never completed the story. Then last year he announced The Covenant which I think was supposed to be based on the Old Testament. Apparently five issues were released! I feel like there was another Sci Fi Jesus series somewhere in the mid-2000s because it was one of those "hey Liefeld's art is getting better-- oh wait, it's a page and a half that are clearly traced from a movie" moments that happened repeatedly.

WickedHate posted:So, where does everyone stand on the "Peter killed Gwen" debate? Good? Bad? A guy with a gun? Norman killed her. He threw her off the building. She died while Peter tried to rescue her but Peter did not kill her. There's an interesting take on it during the Clone Saga where Ben just so happens to see a woman fall off the same bridge and he makes a huge point of swinging down to catch her midfall and redirect the momentum rather than catching her with a web line because "hey this guy is better at being Spider-man than Peter HINT HINT HINT."
