This isn't the official shop.nhl.com site, which is still selling jerseys for their normal, inflated price.

NHL.us.com is a Fanatics site. One that hasn't been updated since 2015. I've never liked Fanatics, they always feel too good to be true. I'd love to buy an authentic Landeskog Stadium Series jersey for 40 bucks, but I doubt it'd happen.

Something is definitely not right with that link. The more you dig around, the more Engrish you see. This is the NHL shop on Fanatics, which is 100% legit:

The fact that it has Brian Propp and Bobby Clarke "authentic" sweaters that are actually the current 3rds told me that.

Ovie doesn't like the current playoff format

quote:

The schedule in the playoffs is kind of weird," Ovechkin told CSN Mid-Atlantic's J.J. Regan, "because you play first team and fourth and then you play against Pittsburgh. ... Then you think, why [do we] need to win Presidents' Trophy to play against the best team?"

On the one hand I kinda get it, because the previous format let them sleepwalk through a shitbox division to what usually wound up being a 3 seed and pretty easy path to the ECF but come on, bud.

I missed youth hockey chat? For shame!

To bring it back, I only started hockey because here in England, youth football (soccer to you yanks) has parents screaming at eachother after every game and scoring on someone could make you enemies for you entire childhood.

When we moved to hockey it was incredibly chill. My brother played for the national team here (roller), but we got our practice's (at least when we started) from the loving mighty ducks. It was really cool too, the club we joined had only been around for about five years and was started by a couple of parents who were into the sport. It's turned into a super successful club by English standards and i'm considering rejoining them when I get a chance, because one of the houses i could move to is right next to their home rink.

I don't think i've ever seen any animosity here between players, aside from a couple of people who haven't quite understood that we're not actually being horrible to eachother and that while our chirps seem disgraceful, it's all in good fun.

I kind of don't want hockey to get bigger here, if only to preserve the environment of "I don't care how bad you do, have a loving blast playing".

E: I forgot to mention, I was hit, open ice at full speed for the first time since I started playing again. We both went down and we smashed our helmets together. Honestly surprised I haven't got a concussion, we were both chasing a puck and neither one of us wanted to give it up.

As a fan it's nice in the sense that it all but guarantees you get some pretty awesome matchups in the second round, but from a competitive and fairness standpoint it is pretty dumb that the Pens and Caps had to face each other in the second round and it also makes for some pretty anticlimactic conference finals.

I just hate the wildcard thing. If you're going to have 4 actual conferences with playoffs for each fine, but don't half rear end it by saying the top 3 from each division are in that division's bracket oh and then the fourth may or may not be from that division.

The Islanders tanked their last game of the regular season to get into the Detroit Tampa Florida bracket instead of Pittsburgh Washington Rangers. Realignment was stupid to begin with but now that we have at least 1 expansion team it's here to stay. So just keep it division winners get 1-2 and everyone else fights for 3-8.

That was the most hilarious game. Philly qualified for the playoffs beating Pittsburgh the day before and couldn't change their seed while the Isles wanted badly to drop one, so both teams iced the saddest rosters.

Both Florida teams will make the playoffs, and Carey Price is going to drag the Canadiens to a 3rd place finish in the Atlantic. Therrien and Bergevin will then be praised for running Subban out of town and rewarded with lucrative contract extensions.

This alone is reason enough why the new format is stupid. If 3-8 were entirely seeded by record, the Islanders would've already been locked into a first round 4/5 matchup with the Rangers (awesome) and they would've had every incentive to win that game since it would've given them the higher seed
