Not perfect, and I'd obviously prefer a kindle, but reading the original Fantastic Four comics has worked pretty well on it so far. Before you maybe buy the kindle I want to warn that the unlimited app does not work on the kindle unless you side load. You have to use the silk browser.

Medullah posted:Are there any good comic streaming Android apps? I've asked this in the thread before but haven't yet found a real easy method. Essentially I'm looking for a server/client something like Plex Media server. Have my comics in CBZ/CBR/PDF stored on my computer and have an app that I can "stream" to my tablet and have it track what I've read and what's new. This isn't gonna be extremely helpful but ComicRack i believe has that form of synching. I haven't actually used it myself (the synching i mean, it's my main comic app), so you may wanna look at the website to check. I know it has some sort of connection to the desktop app but I'm not 100% on it syncing last page read and stuff like that.

Can anybody speak to the quality of the series included in the Road to Eden's Fall sale going on at comixology? The Tithe and Postal sound interesting, but I'm not at all familiar with the creator.

Crashbee posted:I've never heard of Mad Magazine. Looks like it's about US pop culture, is it worth it for non-Americans? Not really. It was hilarious when I was 11, but the writers have turned over or died, and it is mostly bad puns and weak satire now. Having said that, my tastes have matured over the last 30 years, so it's possible that it was never funny.

It looks like the stuff they've included is largely Amero-centric, but there's plenty of Mad content that works fine without reference.

Taken by itself the main House of M book is a fun bendis romp with amazing art. I think the hate it gets is related to its place in time and continuity but we are far enough removed we can just read it I think. But it wasn't exactly secret wars, no.

Anyone having trouble redeeming the two free digital comics from Captain America: Civil War? Anytime I try to redeem it, I get booted back to the loving frontpage. And it refuses to log me in, if I try it just sent me to the front page and pretends I am not signed in.

They'll fix it, but chances they'll be super slow. They usually want a photo of the code to prove its yours.

hadji murad posted:What are the Kirby/Lee ones like that take place before the Steranko volume? I'm reading them through MU right now. I would say they are... essential? They're the first stories of SHIELD as far as I know but also the first stories where Nick Fury becomes the head, they introduce Jasper Sitwell (who admittedly also shows up in Iron Man comics of the time), you see the first appearance of Them (aka AIM), Hydra shows up, and they're just generally bonkers fun. These old school SHIELD stories are basically every 60s spy movie/TV show smashed together with a dash of GI Joe and of course everything is designed by Kirby. Though on that last point saying these stories are Lee and Kirby is a tad misleading since he does the layouts towards the latter half and Heck is the one penciling over them. The art is still obviously 75% Kirby but still.
