I sometimes read articles written by goons, too. For example: https://www.theguardian.com/profile/jeb-lund But yes, I'm broken in the head because I listen to a podcast made by goons about bad video games who do an annual donation drive to a transgender charity.

It's odd to think how long South Park has been around. I remember asking a friend to record the first episode on his VCR for me since I didn't have cable...about two years later I bought a Dreamcast.

making GBS threads all over Chef and Scientology in increasingly hilarious ways was a high point in South Park history for me. That was in season nine though. Still love a lot of the early stuff but it's kinda taken on the Simpsons effect to me.

Its very nuts that I remember going crazy with my high school friends over the first episodes and now I'm an old fart and its still around. Like, I don't watch it because I assume I've grown past it but I guess high school kids are still freaking out over it? Its nuts. Simpsons seems different. Simpsons is this weird cultural thing like SNL or Family Feud or the Tonight Show. People just seem to treat it like its always been there and always will be. South Park is the weird cartoon where the fat kid does really hosed up poo poo.

Its nuts. most likely south park's audience has aged along with the show - when it first came out it was more often shock humor than discussion of current events, so it was more appealing to kids. i was also in high school when it came out and watching tv was still something most teens did, because the internet was just catching on beyond turbonerds. and this is back when cable was only 40-50 channels or so, so if you wanted subversive humor comedy central was one of your few if not only choices nowadays teens have the entire internet so i doubt there's a lot of them tuning in to watch a twenty year old cartoon on a thirty year old channel that deals with current events, which most teens don't really care about compared to the high drama of their own lives. imo the people who watch south park now are largely the same people who have been watching it for years

So Hannity was going on about how the national polls show Trump up by 5 points, as well as him being ahead 5 points in Ohio. Is this for real or is it Hannity's standard "Take the one poll with the results I like and claim it as representative of all polls"? He also attacked Hillary as an "elitist" and was like "Do you think she's ever worked a regular job before? She's never washed dishes or waited tables or bartended. She doesn't know what it's like." And the very first thing I thought was "And you think Trump has done those things you goddamn idiot?"

Didn't Jon Stewart go on Colbert's late show to do this whole long thing about how Hannity is one of the most talented mental gymnasts on Fox? I don't watch Fox because I don't have that kind of blood pressure, but it sounded like Hannity is either a special kind of idiot or a blatant hypocrite. The Pulse shooting in Orlando happened, and a ton of ribbons were passed out for people to wear at the convention. They were among the few not wearing Orlando ribbons. I'm not usually even into showing solidarity with trinkets as I am horribly cynical but that stood out to me in a very, 'of course you guys would' way.

The alt-right has started its own Twitter knockoff called Gab.quote:Gab is less than a month old, so it may well flame out like Peach or Ello. But for now, the platform looks like an artifact from a dystopian universe where the alt-right completely took over Twitter. Gab has over 42,000 people on its waitlist, more than 11,000 active members, and among them are nearly all the alt-right’s online kingpins, including the Internet’s self-styled super-villain, Breitbart writer Milo Yiannopoulos himself, who was recently banned for life from Twitter. And Gab’s appeal for that crowd is obvious. The only posting guidelines are no illegal porn, no threats of violence, no terrorism, and no doxing. Oh, and a fifth commandment that literally says “try to be nice.” Everything else is fair game. Notably absent? Any explicit stipulations against hate speech.
