I mean poo poo The Witcher 3 is a pretty strong contender for 'best game ever' but its kind of a tricky question because of the difference between genres. Who is to say that the very best sports game isnt as good as the best rpg? Well, me, I'd say that; but the point remains,

was thinking about it some more and the scope of games has increased dramatically since RE4 came out so obviously some games are going to be more engrossing/impressive but dang what's there it's just nearly perfect In fact just thinking about it I kinda want to play it again and thankfully it has been ported approximately 200 times can any 2D platformer from the same era touch Super Mario World or SMB3

Unreal Tournament 2004 Except for those weird jumping levels users kept creating. If you cant master the side-hop-double-wall-double-jump right onto the pixel sized platform to rocket jump with exactly 1 hp onto, then you should just play "Invasion", noob

I know the Witcher 3 has like its own thing going on with the combat but it's easily the weakest part of the game what if we replaced it with one of the best action combat systems of all time from Devil May Cry 4

It's either Super Metroid or Doom or Just Cause 2 or Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon or Morrowind. Games on/nearly on the same level: Mario 64 Rise of Nations the new Doom Castlevania: SoTN

Super Mario World for brainwashing an entire generation into memorizing the music and standing up to the ravages of time surprisingly well. Witcher 3 for story, atmosphere, graphics, cinematic style and gameplay. My least favorite part is that annoying chanting song that starts every time you go into battle. That got old after like 20 minutes and after 10-15 hours it forced me to turn off music in the game.

seems like i should try Witcher 3...I got bored with 2 and its terrible combat about 30 hrs in at the part where you have to hunt down a ghost army or something, how is 3 better?

The combat is good. The story isn't really fantasy, more like a detective story in medieval setting with folklore elements.
