Panty Saluter posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LbIJdGNQfA pro click and drat, i'm impressed at the existence of a somewhat playable psx port given that the psx is possibly the worst platform imaginable to port that game to (no perspective-correct texturing in a game that depends on huge flat surfaces with very detailed textures) well, maybe the n64 would be even worse given that its texture memory was like one kilobyte or some ridiculous bullshit like that the fun thing about the psx gpu is that it is entirely 2d and has no concept of a z axis whatsoever. you just command it to draw triangles in the xy plane and it will uniformly stretch textures across them.

My favorite part of that is that mdk was designed to use 512 x 512 textures in software on an early pentium And in 2011 skyrim used 256 x 256 textures on exponentially more powerful consoles snd pcs

SO DEMANDING posted:yeah all that rackmounted bullshit and he has that POS instead of a proper NAS my 4 bay synology has been meta own-zone for me just as random central storage and a repo for all my blurays ripped they went a little bit above and beyond tho in writing a complete GUI from scratch in a web browser tab for their config management there's no reason for that ^ to be done like that

SO DEMANDING posted:yeah all that rackmounted bullshit and he has that POS instead of a proper NAS But that rack is my most prized possession. I had a NAS but I'd rather have OS X see my USB thing mounted "natively" instead of over the network since I kept getting errors moving large files around. I use chromecast with Plex instead of a Roku. Works good enough for me.
