One time we told a guy there is nobody in the US with a windshield for your vintage Porsche (80s I believe) so his option was to find one from Germany. I'm sure freight would be cheap.

I'm sure freight would be cheap. I had that happen to me with my Volvo. Was looking for a new seat belt for my car and the dealership I was working through was able to find me one. In Estonia. Luckily the dealer paid for the shipping. It's one of the only times I've gone through a dealer for a part as I'm not willing to deal with a used belt from a pick n pull.

Octopus Magic posted:lol 3 grand So, you'll need the replacement decals ($400), probably an engine/trans rebuild or replacement (couple thou? IDK), all new rubber belts/hoses and fluids ($200 or so?), and, judging from the not-quite-closed door, a new interior (maybe a kilobuck to do it right?). So it'll cost another 3 grand at least to restore.

I mean, you can restore it, but it's not like a 69 Camaro where you can build one from scratch with parts ordered from Year One.

The only saving grace is that truly clean early second-gens are hard to come by these days. It would not be hard to put the boat anchor engine where it belongs and put nearly anything else in its place. Nothing blatantly wrong with the TH350.

I've owned a couple and they're not bad transmissions, but it's a bit of a bummer in a second gen Camaro.
